  • Mound City Panther Miles Loucks, a senior gets ready to tee off at the Missouri High School Class 1 State Golf Tournament in New Bloomfield, MO, on Monday, May 18. Loucks finished the first round of state golf tied with three other golfers in 55th place after shooting a 93 on the par 72 course. In second round action on Tuesday, May 19, Loucks bettered his score by one stroke, shooting a 92. His two-day total of 185 placed him in a tie for 49th place.

Approximately 50 people enjoyed the Big Lake Tour of Homes on Saturday, June 20. Trent and Donna Tiemeyer’s home, pictured above, features an inlaid ceiling of maple, pecan, hickory and walnut woods, complemented by inlaid mirrors. The home was built entirely by the Tiemeyer couple.

Fun games were enjoyed by the participants of the Holt County Relay For Life on Saturday night, June 6, on the square in Oregon, MO. A bounce house, dunking booth, and kids’ games entertained the children, while activities on the stage held everyone’s attention throughout the evening. After a live auction and a performance by singer, Mike Stewart, a lively round of the Not So Newlywed Game was played. Lily Forehand, right, is the 2015 valedictorian of the graduating class at Mound City R-2. Lily received her trophy and chord from Superintendent Ken Eaton, left, during the commencement exercises on Sunday, May 17, in the gymnasium of the school in Mound City. Lily is the daughter of Karl and Laura Forehand.

Cody Schniedermeyer, a 2015 graduate of Nodaway-Holt R-VII was named the valedictorian of the class at the graduation ceremony on Sunday, May 10, in Graham, MO. Cody is the son of Steve and Sherry Schniedermeyer of Skidmore, MO.

Walker. The juniors, seniors, dates and faculty traveled the short distance to Countryside Bistro near Graham, MO, for dinner and dancing before returning to the school for an After Prom party.
